Student Ministry (6th-12th)
Student Minister: Jesse Peters

"You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a stand and it gives light to all in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven."

-Matthew 5:14-16

Our goal in Beacon Youth Ministry at FBC is to equip students (grades 6-12) to be a beacon of hope, love, truth, and life on their campuses and in their homes. Each week we have several ways that students can be encouraged in their walk with Christ.

On Sunday mornings at 9:15 we break up in to small groups to study the Bible chronologically, looking at the overall story of God's plan for salvation for everyone who believes in Him.

Wednesday nights we look a little closer at a specific part of the Bible. Each semester we dissect a different book of the Bible, looking chapter by chapter and verse by verse, how the Word of God is living and active in our lives today. There are also times throughout the weeks that students can engage in small group discipleship studies.

Though much of what we do in BeaconYM revolves around teenagers, we are committed to serving not just students, but families as a whole. Several times througout the year we will have times for parents to come together to exchange strategy notes and to be encouraged by others when it comes to the constant battle of raising teenagers in today's culture.
